Over the course of her 11-year career, Erin has worked for companies such as Wake Forest Baptist Health, Emory Healthcare, Grady Health and Tanner Health Systems. She serves as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Torn Counseling and Recovery with the following goals in mind: to listen, to help, and to heal. Her approach is to take the time to LISTEN to the concerns of her clients and, based on her expertise, HELP them to navigate through the available options that can alleviate their symptoms, so they are then able to focus on the work of HEALING. Erins’ approach is largely inspired by the concepts of informed consent (educating clients about the risks, benefits, and alternatives available to them) and patient-centered care (focusing on a client’s individual needs with the goal of empowering them to become active participants in their care). To Erin, you are not a number, you are a soul, and we will work together to find what works best for the person that is uniquely you. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winston-Salem State University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. She is also a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC. Since joining Torn , the most rewarding part has been watching the success of our clients as they move to a place of wholeness, followed closely by working with a world-class team.
